DESIGNATED

Establishes the performance requirements that the protective helmets established in the technical regulations and in the standards established for each classification must meet:

• Safety helmets for general use in the industry under the current EN 397 standard or its equivalent adoptions, or the current ANSI Z89.1 standard.
• Protective helmets for cyclists and for users of skateboards and roller skates under the current EN 1078 standard or its equivalent adoptions.

Establishes the performance requirements that individual face protectors (special masks) and eyes (goggles) must meet, in order to protect the life and safety of people and avoid practices that may mislead users. icas: Disposable cartridge razors and disposable razors.

• This technical regulation applies to individual face protectors (special masks) and eye protectors (goggles) that are used to reduce the occurrence and severity or to prevent injuries from hazards, particularly those found in educational and occupational environments, such as such as impact, ionizing radiation and exposure to liquid splashes, including but not limited to machinery operations, cutting and welding of materials, chemical handling and assembly operations; and that they are marketed in Ecuador, whether imported or nationally manufactured.
• This technical regulation also applies to individual face and eye protectors equipped with prescription lenses.

DESIGNATED

Establishes the performance requirements that footwear must meet as personal protective equipment, with the purpose of protecting the safety and lives of people, as well as avoiding practices that may lead users to errors. Applies to products:

• Security shoes.
• Protective footwear.
• Hunted for work.

DESIGNATED

Establishes the requirements that carpets and other textile floor coverings must meet under the established standard.

They must comply with the ignition requirement established in the current ASTM D 2859 standard.

This technical regulation does not apply to flat and coarse protective textile products that are placed under carpets and under floor coverings.

ACCREDITED

Establishes the requirements that faucets or valves for home use must meet, in order to prevent risks to the safety and life of people, the environment and avoid deceptive practices that may mislead users. Applies to the following products:

• Faucets or taps for domestic use.
• Ball valves.
• Dispensing valves.
• Solenoid valves.
• Valves, showers, showers for home use.

DESIGNATED

Establishes the minimum requirements that non-electric shavers must meet, as well as the main performance characteristics and safety requirements that electric shavers must meet, in order to protect people’s lives and prevent practices that may mislead users. Applies to the following products:

• Electric shavers intended for domestic use whose rated voltage does not exceed 250V.
• Non-electric shavers: Disposable cartridge razors and disposable razors.

DESIGNATED

Glass and glass-ceramic tableware intended to be in contact with food must meet the requirements of permissible limits for the release of lead and cadmium, established in the current ISO 6486-2 standard or its equivalent adoptions.

Glass containers intended to be in contact with food must comply with the requirements of permissible limits for the release of lead and cadmium, established in the current ISO 7086-2 standard or its equivalent adoptions.

ACCREDITED

Establishes the safety and energy efficiency requirements for household cooking containers made of cast iron and steel; and, the safety requirements that must be met by containers for domestic use for cooking made of aluminum established in the technical regulations and in the standards established for each classification:

• Domestic use containers for cooking made of aluminum without non-stick under current NTE INEN 2361 standards
• Domestic use containers for cooking made of aluminum with non-stick under current NTE INEN 2851 and NTE INEN 2361 standards
• Domestic use containers for cooking made of cast iron and steel under current NTE INEN 2851 standards.

In order to protect the life and safety of people, domestic animals and the environment; and avoid practices that may mislead users.

This regulation does not apply to glass, ceramic or vitroceramic containers for domestic use; to those that are connected to the electrical network; and pressure cookers.

ACCREDITED

Requirements for tableware and glass, ceramic and glass-ceramic items in contact with food, and ceramic items used in cooking food, which are manufactured and imported for sale in the national territory.
